Smarterlite stair treads and nosing utilise a Smarterlite photoluminescent strip to improve visual contrast in low-light conditions as well as on stairwells in emergency evacuation conditions, when harsh shadows are created from emergency stairwell lighting. The wide slip-resistant tread improves grip on stairways, providing increased pedestrian and public safety in power failures, dark or low light conditions.

Designed to be easily fitted to most new and existing stairways including timber, tiled, masonry and steel. Manufactured from strong extruded alloy base and fitted with slip-resistant material, the stair treads remain effective even under heavy traffic.

Black slip resistant stair treads are available in a range of lengths from 600mm to 1,500mm, in 100mm increments.

Yellow slip-resistant stair treads are available in a range of set lengths – 500mm, 600mm, 750mm and 1,000mm.

Suitable for both internal and external applications such as stairwells, emergency exits, entertainment facilities, sports venues and theaters.

We recommend that the strips are installed by applying an adhesive for the full length and screwing the base of the stair tread to the step or stair. Adhesive should also be used between the base and non-slip layer as well. The adhesive should be a strong construction adhesive appropriate to the materials and conditions.
